As the WSOP heads into its final week of the Summer, another bracelet was won yesterday:

Danny Tang defeated a field of 123 entries finishing with Sam Soverel heads up to collect his very first WSOP bracelet. The 90th bracelet event was added last minute when the world series was already underway, however that didn’t stop many high stakes notables such as Cary Katz, Dan Smith, Benjamin Heath, Stephen Sontheimer and Adrian Mateos who saw himself take fifth in the event. Tang also took home a sizable $1,608,406 for his efforts as the world series created yet another millionaire.

In other parts of the Rio, Mike Dentale leads the last 48 players in Event #75: $1,000+111 Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em. A record 6,246 entries created a massive prize pool with $690,686 going to the winner.

Andras Nemeth leads the final 14 players in Event #79: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em. This was initially planned to be a four day event, however with so many players hitting the rail yesterday it wouldn’t be surprising if the tournament director decided to allow play to continue today until a champion is crowned.

Another first of it’s kind tournament introduced by the World Series this year was Event #81: $1,500 50th Annual Bracelet Winners Only No-Limit Hold’em. The rake-free 01.

In Event #80: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Corey Wright leads in the mixed event which switches every 8 hands from No-Limit Hold’em to Pot Limit Omaha. 340 players found chips to bag out of the record-breaking 1,250 who began the event. Notable pros Shaun Deeb and Chance Kornuth are among the top stacks returning for day 2.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika holds the pole position in Event #78: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty. 42 remain of the 1,190 entries, in addition to the $177,823 top prize, every player has a $500 bounty on their head. Daniel Negreanu was among those to bag and enters the day very short stacked.

However, the chip leader in the event the entire world is focused on is Timothy Su in Event #73: No-Limit Hold’em MAIN EVENT – World Championship It is Su’s very first main event, and out of the 8,569 players who entered with dreams of holding the bracelet above their heads, only 106 of them managed to survive and return today for day 6. Among those still in the hunt include Antonio Esfandiari, Alex Foxen, and Sam Greenwood. They have all secured a cash of at least $59,295, however, the $10,000,000 top prize is what everyone is aiming for in addition to the coveted bracelet.
