Event #18: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-limit Hold’em<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The most affordable live event in the history of the WSOP has registered 23,088 entries. Jason Simon<\/strong> paved the way for the victory and became the last standing “gladiator” for $499,852.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Your tournament life is so valuable, you have to stay alive no matter what,” the new champion continued in reference to swings yesterday. “When I fell down to 14 million, I never really panicked, found a double up and went up from there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Negreanu notably made a deep run in the tournament but couldn’t get past the 72nd place and won close to 20 times his initial bet for $5,840.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

212 took the starting line in Event #25: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship<\/strong>, now 7 remains with Ben Lamb in the lead, closely followed by two players including Erik Seidel (3rd). They’ve all secured $61k and will try to grab the top $492k main prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event #26: $800 No-Limit Hold\u2019em Deepstack<\/strong> (4,747 entries) stopped during heads-up with Matthew Elsby<\/strong> – looking for his second bracelet – currently ahead of Renji Mao<\/strong>. The players will return today to try to become the champion for $402,588.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event #27: $1,500 Eight Game Mix 6-Handed<\/strong> has 21 players left in the field. Chad Campbell<\/strong> leads, followed by Daniel Strelitz<\/strong>, Robert Mizrachi<\/strong> (5th), Shaun Deeb<\/strong> (10th), Nick Schulman<\/strong> (13th) and David “Bakes” Baker<\/strong> (19th). $198,854 will be given to the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll end this recap with the exciting Event #29: $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold\u2019em<\/strong>, packed with the biggest names of poker. 35 players remains out of an amazing line-up, Adrian Mateos<\/strong> finishing the day with the biggest stack. Prizes have not been announced yet but the prizepool is already over $7,6M. Phil Ivey<\/strong>, Daniel Negreanu<\/strong> and Jason Koon<\/strong> took the start but won’t make day 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
