Event #41: $1,500 Big O<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It was the first Big O event of the World Series and the event got 1,458 entries for a $1,9M prizepool. Scott Abrams<\/strong> is our winner, bagging $315,203 by defeating Robert Williamson III<\/strong>. Johnny Chan<\/strong> couln’t make it beyond 14th, passing a good chance to win his 11th bracelet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’ve done a lot of work in Limit O\/E,” Abrams said. “Big O is that but extrapolating strong hands on both sides. If I see a good O8 hand, but my opponent wants to bet a lot, I lean towards fold most of the time, and I’ll just make nut-nut the next hand.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event #42: $800 8-Handed No-Limit Hold\u2019em Deepstack<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They were 3,773 entries is this $800 event, crushing last year’s attendance of 2,812. It made up for a $339,033 top prize that finally went to China’s Qiang Xu<\/strong> in just two days. 2021 Main Event winner Koray Aldemir<\/strong> made a deep run but finally lost in 12th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a dream coming true,” said Xu a few minutes after his victory. “My goal coming from China was to win a bracelet, and now, I’ve got it!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I tried to use my stack to pressure at this point,” he added. “Then I changed my strategy a bit to be more stable. That’s what I did at the final table when my stack decreased. Afterward, I tried not to hurry up and to find the right moment to catch up.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event #39: $1,500 MONSTER STACK No-Limit Hold’em<\/strong> had a total of 8,317 entries, now down to only 42. China’s Xuming Qi<\/strong> leads with a large 24M stack. Still in the event are British Brandon Sheils<\/strong><\/a> (19th), Joe Cada<\/strong> (21st) and famous poker vlogger Ashley “PokerFaceAsh” Frank<\/a><\/strong> (40th). All have already secured $30k, but they’re probably all thinking about the $1,1M main prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event #43: $50,000 Poker Players Championship <\/strong>closed its registration and ended up with a count of 99 entries, setting the top prize at $1,324,747. Dan Cates<\/strong> lost today and won’t be able to defend his title after winning it twice in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
